Information Architecture
MDV Communications offers custom-built Web 2.0 applications for our clients. Web 2.0 refers to the “second generation” of Web sites and hosted services that emphasize collaborative, interactive and communication tools. They use the Web as a platform to publish, broadcast, store, and organize information.
Applications include:
Wikis – A Wiki is a Web site that allows visitors to add, remove and edit content.
Blogs – A technology that allows users to post news, press releases, opinion pieces, job openings and more on the Web. Blogs, used together with RSS, achieve significant syndication on the Web.
RSS Feeds – A format that allows your content, such as blogs, news, and podcasts to be pushed to your computer. Users can subscribe to a feed and receive only the information they sign up for. Allows for greater distribution throughout the Web.
Podcasts – An audio file that is comparable to a blog you can listen to. The file is downloaded by listeners as a feed to be heard through a computer or on an mp3 player.
