With over eleven
years of marketing, communications and public relations experience,
the last seven of which have been spent specializing in online
marketing and search
engine optimization (SEO), Marci's primary focus is on
developing communications channels and providing internet marketing
services for customer acquisition and increased revenue generation.
Since founding MDV Communications in 2001, she has helped dozens
of companies build their marketing presence, develop their corporate
voice, and create mechanisms for communicating with their target
audiences.
Marci has worked with National Public Radio (NPR), where she was
involved with their internal communications program for NPR Member
Stations. Additionally, while working with Gr8, a Web developer in
Baltimore, she created the public relations department and helped
develop additional revenue sources by developing search engine
optimization and online
marketing/promotions offerings for clients. At Choice Hotels
International, she led the effort to use new media and contact
management systems for public relations efforts. At Baker Book
House, she executed publicity campaigns for over seventy authors per
year.
On the entrepreneurial side, De Vries has worked with early-stage
startups to build awareness, help attract customers and prepare for
venture funding.
Marci received her BA in English from Western Michigan University
and her Masters degree in Public Communication from American
University. She also holds a certificate of Internet
Advertising and Promotion from Georgetown University. She has
been a guest lecturer in marketing and communications for MBA
courses at The Johns Hopkins University and Loyola College.

Jen received her
BA in English from Shippensburg University (Pa.). She served as
President of Sigma Tau Delta, national English honor society,
treasurer for Shippensburg’s marching and concert bands, and was a
founding father of the Lamda Delta chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi,
national honorary band fraternity.
While working towards her degree, Jen was employed by the Public
Opinion newspaper in Chambersburg, PA as a sports department staff
writer. She also covered entertainment for The Slate, SU’s weekly
student-run newspaper and was published in the University’s literary
journal Write the Ship. After moving to Baltimore, Jen worked at the
Department of Legislative Services in Annapolis as the Editor of the
Document Design department.
Jen is also the trumpet instructor for Baltimore’s Marching
Ravens.

In May 2006, Ben
received his BS in Mass Communications with a concentration towards
Advertising from Towson University. During his enrollment, he was a
recipient of the Maryland Senatorial Scholarship for his efforts in
high school and continuation of education within the state of
Maryland.
At Towson, Ben studied mass communications research, advertising
media planning and marketing communications, where he learned how to
implement creative executions for ads. He is also a skilled campaign
writer and primary/secondary researcher.
Prior to his education at Towson University, Ben had played
soccer for 12 years. At his last season with the River Hill High
School Hawks, the team was ranked number one in the state by the
Washington Post.

In 2004, Thom was granted his BA in Philosophy from Goucher College in Maryland. While there he was given a grant to travel to both Chicago and Prague to study politics and society. During that time he helped organize a regional philosophy conference and also organized a student group dealing with concerns over mass media.
Previously, Thom worked for Gardner Films Inc. as an assistant editor on several documentaries and made Web based videos for BellyDuJour.com. He was also a chef at a popular Baltimore restaurant.

With an M.S. in computer science from Johns Hopkins, Galen has over 10 years experience as a software engineer and project lead on enterprise applications for corporate and government clients. He has a wide variety of software development experience with a particular emphasis on data-mining, language parsing, client-side data visualization and user interface design.
